Remember when networking meant stuffy hotel conference rooms and awkward small talk? Those days are fading fast. We love a good networking event, but let's be honest, another evening away from home means missing bedtime stories and those fleeting moments with our kids that we can't get back. So we decided to flip the script and design an event where families could come first.
Anagram recently hosted an evening at Thread HQ that proved this point beautifully. Instead of the usual business crowd, we opened our doors to founders, creatives, operators, and their kids.
This isn't about making every event family-friendly, sometimes you do need that focused adults-only environment. But when you create space for people's full lives, you tap into something deeper than typical networking. You build community.
Maybe the future of networking isn't about separating our professional and personal selves. Maybe it's about creating spaces where both can coexist, where deals get discussed over juice boxes, and where the best connections happen when we show up as our real self with our loved ones.
